  In order to qualify a student must be in 6th or 7th grade and have an overall average of 95 or higher.  If qualified, students will receive an application packet by mail.

Peer Tutoring/Homework Help will begin in October for students in grades 1 through 5

The NJHS offers a free of charge peer tutoring/homework help program for students in grades one through four. Peer tutors will help with homework, studying for tests, or catching up with schoolwork.  Tutoring takes place on Mondays from 2:15-3:00 in Mrs. Kanter's room. Dismissal is from the flagpole doors promptly at 3pm. 



 Students may be inducted into the NJHS at the begining of their 7th or 8th grade year.  In order to be considered for membership students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students must maintain an overall average of 95 or better in their 6th or 7th grade year (prior to the induction in September)
  • Students must be responsible - they may not receive any Improvement Needed on their report card
  • Students may NOT receive ANY Unsatisfactory grades anywhere on the report card
  • Students must be involved in service to their community, church, school and family
  • Students are required to perform a minimum of 5 hours of community service each trimester while part of the NJHS
