Welcome back letter

Dear Fifth Grade Students and Families,

We are happy to welcome you to the Fifth Grade!  We hope that you have had an enjoyable vacation visiting new and exciting places, swimming, or just relaxing and having fun.

The fifth grade teachers have been planning for the new exciting academic year.   We hope you are as excited as we are and that you are looking forward to a new set of adventures and some stimulating new challenges.  We are counting on your ideas and actions to make this a fabulous year.

Fifth grade is a very important year.  We want you to come to school with an open mind, a positive attitude, and a determination to succeed.  We will be working as a team.  Mrs. DiPaola will be the homeroom teacher for grade 5A and will be teaching Reading, Language Arts and Science to both 5A and 5B. Ms. Signore will be the homeroom teacher for 5B and will be teaching Social Studies and Math to both 5A and 5B.  As a team we will be learning to budget our time, work cooperatively, develop good study habits, and strive to achieve our highest potential.

If you do not have all of the fifth grade supplies, please go to the S.J.A. webpage for grade 5 and select the link.  The students will also be reading chapter books this year and the cost for the first two books is $6.00.  Please send in $6.00 in cash or a check made out to cash only by Monday, September 11, 2017.

Each student is required to purchase the school planner.  The cost is $3.50 which may be paid in cash or a check made out to S.J.A.. The planner keeps all homework and reminders organized and it is also a great place for parents and teachers to communicate with each other.

We look forward to a wonderful year! Remember that together with your parents we are a team and by working together we will make this year successful in your academic and spiritual life.  Welcome Back!!!!

                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                Mrs. DiPaola and Ms. Signore
